_By
age 19, Michael Behm was already a local
journeyman musician and legend on Vancouver Island
he started playing bars at 15 years of age and had
the attitude to go along with it. Michael took
over the management of his band Frenzy in 1984 and
never looked back. Touring in the “Big Blue Bird
Bus” the boy’s were breaking hearts and taking
names. In 1988, Michael founded Premier Studios, a
then small but passionate concern of his. The
recording business was a big boy game and Premier
was one of the first home studios in the Vancouver
area.
Michael and Ray Roper recorded some of the up and
comers of the day spending endless hours getting
sounds. Michael developed his own style and sound
in those years. Premier evolved into a state of
the art 48 track digital recording studio with
complete automation and a collection of vintage
gear from all over the globe.
To date Michael has produced five solo albums, 6
singles and many international artists.
In 1999 he teamed up with the Canadian/US band
"Speed" to produce their debut CD -Power Trip Pigs
(Massacre Records, Germany) which is receiving
rave revues in Europe and Japan. This was an
opportunity for Michael to play his sonic game
with a Power house rock band. The CD has Guitar
Mountains, freaky loops and Aaron Randall’s over
the top lead vocals are kept in check by Jack
Frost and his ice guitar. |
